Welcome to this episode of Mortgage Motivation Advice you Can Use in Life. My name is Mimi Duce, specializing in new construction. I have a few of my great friends, wonderful builders, with me today Blake Romero and Bobby Vannoy. Thank you for joining me.
Speaker 2:Thank you for having us.
Speaker 1:All right. So tell us a little bit about Legendary Contractors and I know y'all kind of have a lot of legendary things going on, but let's focus on that one today. Tell me a little bit how y'all got started, how y'all partnered up, because I love y'all's story. I mean it's an amazing story. Let's share it with everyone All right.
Speaker 3:So I guess we have a couple of legendary companies, but we'll focus on legendary contractors. So it's actually a funny story because everybody thinks me and Bobby were friends first, but it's actually our wives that were friends. They're both nurses. They met, I guess about 10 years ago and they introduced myself and bobby and from that day of uh you know forward they called us bay and bay and we've been friends ever since. Um always talked about going into business together and decided one day to build houses, and we never looked back. So we've enjoyed the transition and we love what we do well.
Speaker 1:I am so grateful that y'all did choose to do so. Um I see you wearing your legendaryary Scapes shirt and your legendary contract. Tell me a little bit about Legendary Scapes we also have a landscaping company called Legendary Scapes.
Speaker 2:We do hardscapes to landscaping lighting, irrigation, drainage, so we do the total spectrum of landscaping capabilities.
Speaker 1:So I'm assuming Legendary Scapes is providing this for the parade house. So we're here to talk to you about the upcoming parade. You guys wow three homes in the parade.
Speaker 3:That's unbelievable.
Speaker 1:That's a lot of hard work and a lot of pressure.
Speaker 3:It is. Yeah, it's worth it, though. It's worth it.
Speaker 1:It is Well. Parade of Homes is just a wonderful opportunity to come in and see these guys' works. They do wonderful work. We're going to talk a little bit about each location, but it gives you the opportunity to meet Blake and Bobby and you definitely want to have a conversation with them. When we talk construction, they definitely know what they're doing. Their why is behind every good man is great women, and when I tell you, these two girls really are going to provide some showstoppers. They do all of the designing of the homes themselves and do a wonderful job. Tell us about one of the homes that are going to be in the parade.
Speaker 3:And that's what I was going to get to, kind of the full process or the full design. So yeah, we'll have three homes this year. One of them was a custom, the other two were specs. One of those specs have already been sold, so there is one of the three houses available. Two of the houses are in Leisure Dance subdivision in Youngsville and one of the uh or the third house is in Launanae Estates in Bruce Orem. They each have very different, unique characteristics.
Speaker 2:I don't know, bobby, you want to touch on so the house we did in Lake Jordana, that to live in Ivy Cottage, is actually with Shuffler Homes, bill Shuffler that was on a contract.
Speaker 2:We just spoke about that home, yeah, so that's more your Acadiana style house with arch beams in the living room, with arch beams also in the master bathroom. We have four bedrooms, four and three and a half bath. It's $3,284 living. That's one of the houses in there. And then we also have another house in there at 108, stoney Trek. That is a custom. It's right around $4,500 living. Wow, we kind of expanded a couple of rooms and we made it a little bit bigger on some areas, but that's a five-bedroom with a theater, with four and a half bath.
Speaker 1:That's definitely for the growing family right.
Speaker 3:Yes, that one's a showstopper, that one's excellent.
Speaker 1:What's the feature in the house that you love most?
Speaker 3:For me it's the living room. There's some very unique woodwork. I'll call it in the living room.
Speaker 1:Oh awesome.
Speaker 2:You got to go see it.
Speaker 1:Can't wait to see it. Can't wait to see it. So where's the third house located?
Speaker 2:The third house is 302, amber Combi Way. It's in La Nona Estates, that's in Broussard, that's a what? Four bedroom, three bath, three and a half bath, three and a half bath yeah, it's 2950 living.
Speaker 1:So which homes are going to be for sale? So?
Speaker 2:which homes are going to be for sale. That's the last one for sale. There's three of them.
Speaker 1:That's the one that's left, so they can go under contract. You will write a contract with them right there on the spot. So first come, first serve. I don't think in all the years of me assisting with Parade, all homes go under contract during Parade right?
Speaker 3:No, but that's what happened to us last year. We had one house in the Parade that was for sale and it went on a contract during the parade.
Speaker 1:Yeah, so not only do these guys build specs, but they also do a wonderful job of custom building on your own lot. So if you really want to check them out and you're interested in building in your own lot, they will be on site both weekends, right, where they can, and meet the wives as well. Right, because not only do you get the excellent builders, but you have the designers, which are their wives, that come with it, that are very sweet to boot on top of everything. So, whether you want to purchase a spec, if the ones that are sold, y'all don't have a problem building another one, right?
Speaker 1:no they'll definitely build you another one if you like one of the homes that they have. If not, they can build a spec home. Parade starts april 13th and you can get your ticket at AcadianaHBAcom. Purchase your ticket. Please look for Legendary Contractors. They have three homes in the parade. My good friends Bobby and Blake and I want to say thank y'all for all your efforts to AHBA and they're also the builder of our home for the holidays. So is it the first time that I've been around that I've seen the same builder go through that two years in a row?
Speaker 3:Yeah, first time that the same builder built it twice. It's also the 20th year of the home for the holidays, so we're looking forward to hitting that milestone and also being the first builder to build it twice in a row.
Speaker 1:And not only I mean these guys donate their time, but all the money that comes from Home for the Holidays goes back into the community. So it just kind of gives you an idea what these two guys are all about. So I ask that you please support them come April 13th.
